Eamonn McNamara. Thursday July 29, 2010 Registrations are keeping Paul busy
Registrations Secretary Paul Malliband New Registrations Secretary Paul Malliband is busy processing registrations for players in the adult section of the League. Paul was co-opted onto the Management Committee to replace Mark Hughes who has taken a position on the West Lancashire League. The League expects all clubs in the adult section to have registered 80% of their players by Sunday 8th August which means that some clubs need to get a move on. To date over 800 players registrations have been approved. The first meeting of the season will be held at Acregate Lane Labour Club on Monday 16th August and the League cannot guarantee that registration forms handed in at that meeting will be processed in time for the start of the season on Sunday 22nd August. The situation with clubs who either have not yet registered a player or have registered less than 80% on Wednesday 28th July is as follows; Paul can be contacted by text to 07852 380744 or via e-mail to Paul Malliband Registrations for players in the youth section of the League are being handled by the League Secretary Barry Haughey. Eamonn McNamara Monday July 26, 2010 Clubs Donate £1,177.00 to Derian HouseCharley Roscoe presents the cheque to Roya Khadem of Derian House Children's Hospice Clubs from the LEP Sunday League have dug deep once again and raised £1,177.00 for Derian House Children’s Hospice bringing the total donated from the clubs and players of the League to £21,240.20 in the past seven years. The League has a proud history of supporting local children based charities, such as National Children’s Homes (NCH), National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and the Melanie Magic Wand Appeal. When the Melanie appeal reached its target in 2003 the League adopted Derian House. Six year old Charley Roscoe had the important job of presenting the cheque to Roya Khadem of Derian House. Charley goes to St Mary’s Junior School, Leyland and he attends all AFC Lostock Hall’s games with his mum and dad Sharon and Stuart. His ambition is to play for his heroes or for his other team Manchester United. League President Eamonn McNamara said that by donating to charity the League and its clubs are putting something back into the community in which they operate and he congratulated the clubs on their continued generosity.
